In March 2026, representatives of the Latgale Special Economic Zone (Latgale SEZ) took part in significant international industry and cooperation events, strengthening the region’s visibility and establishing new contacts with potential partners.
At the beginning of the week, Latgale SEZ representatives visited one of the largest manufacturing industry exhibitions in the Benelux region – ESEF Maakindustrie 2026, held in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Organised every two years, the exhibition brings together thousands of manufacturing professionals and companies, offering a broad spectrum of technologies and innovations – from digitalisation and sustainable manufacturing to high-tech and defence industries.
More than 125 companies participated in ESEF, presenting the latest technologies and smart solutions for the industry of the future. The event provided valuable insights into current industry trends and opportunities to establish contacts with international industry representatives.
Meanwhile, in Riga, Latgale SEZ representatives participated in the Latvia–Czech Business Forum, organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia. The forum explored new cooperation opportunities between Latvian and Czech companies, with particular focus on defence technologies and biotechnology.

Participation in such international events contributes to the development of Latgale SEZ’s international cooperation, expands its network of industry partners and investors, and enables close monitoring of technological trends that are essential for strengthening the competitiveness and innovation capacity of companies in the region.
