At the beginning of 2025, Kuprava Industry SIA officially became a member of the Latgale Special Economic Zone (Latgale SEZ). The company, based in the border village of Kuprava in the Balvi district, is the creator and developer of the Sauna LAB brand, specializing in the production of premium wood-frame saunas and modular buildings. Combining craftsmanship with innovation, Sauna LAB products integrate digital features, remote control functionality, customized design, and long-term durability. Each unit is constructed from high-quality, eco-friendly materials, ensuring adaptability to diverse customer needs and varying climate conditions.
Despite being a relatively young company, Kuprava Industry has rapidly established a strong brand presence in the Latgale border region, actively contributing to local economic development. The company is committed to job creation and employee well-being, fostering a stable and supportive work environment. Over the past two years, the team has expanded from three employees to a workforce of 14, reinforcing its strategic vision—to strengthen its market position both domestically and internationally by offering a diverse portfolio of high-quality, innovative products.
As a result, Sauna LAB now exports its premium products to more than 20 EEA countries, including Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Belgium, and Austria. By overseeing the entire production process—from concept and design to construction and packaging—the company ensures that each customer receives a high-quality, tailored solution that meets their specific needs. Over the past two years, Kuprava Industry has successfully executed various large-scale projects, demonstrating its growth potential and operational expertise.
One notable project involved the development of a spa center in Norway’s Lofoten Islands, where the company supplied timber-framed saunas that blend traditional sauna culture with modern technology. Additionally, its products have been installed in challenging environments, such as the Swiss and French Alps, showcasing their resilience and adaptability to diverse climatic and geographical conditions. The company also regularly designs and exports high-quality, durable timber-frame structures to Iceland, further strengthening its position in the Nordic market.
With its recent designation as a company within the Latgale SEZ, Kuprava Industry SIA plans to invest in advanced equipment to expand its production capacity, enabling the development of new and innovative product lines.
